We kicked off our busy season with quite the amazing and unique celebration. It is not often that we get to photograph a B’Nai Mitzvah- which is a Bar Mitvah for siblings, and what made it even more special is that the entire event took place in the incredible Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens. After an impressive and emotional ceremony, the kids got a chance to run around the museum and play with ‘toys’ that we grew up with, like the Ms Pac Man arcade game, or learn about the history of the Music video. Yes, we felt pretty old seeing our childhood favorites represented in a museum, but once we were on the dance floor with the excited teenagers, we were full of youthful energy as we captured their incredible dance moves inspired by some very talented DJ motivators.
Amy Jacobs of Chandelier Events and Florist Rebecca Shepard created a fun and lively atmosphere, transforming an otherwise white walled and somewhat cold museum interior into a loungy rec area, an elegant dining room for the adults, and a spacious and funky dance floor.
